Publications

HeartShare seeks to better understand the biological basis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) by using cutting edge technologies, big data, and artificial intelligence, with the ultimate goal of finding new ways to prevent and treat HFpEF. We welcome innovative and rigorous analyses and publications that will enhance HeartShare and lead to a better understanding of heart failure and related conditions. The HeartShare publications process is overseen by the Publication and Ancillary Studies (PAS) Committee.

Policies

The official policy for publications are available here.

Submitting a Publication Proposal

Prior to any manuscript using HeartShare/AMP-HF center- or patient-specific data (e.g., registry/electronic health record, deep phenotyping, extant) being developed, investigators should check for overlap with prior approved manuscripts. Please log in to see the list of approved manuscripts. The investigator should submit the publication proposal form to the PAS for review and approval at least 6 weeks prior to a PAS meeting.  Once a publication is approved, PAS co-chairs will periodically check in with the investigator on manuscript status. If no progress is made on manuscript development, the PAS may consider relinquishment of the Lead Author to another co-author or retire the manuscript proposal.

Journal selection is the choice of the corresponding author. 2-4 weeks before journal submission, investigators should submit full, complete, and final pre-publication manuscripts to the PAS co-chairs, who will circulate the manuscript to HeartShare and AMP HF leadership.
